Cost of Living
While you won’t find a specialty coffee shop in town, you won’t find high-end coffee prices here either. As is true in many rural communities, the cost of living in Remington and Wolcott is relatively low in comparison to more urban settings.
Housing costs, in particular, remain relatively low in the area compared to nearby cities. Housing values have gone up since 2000; however, these values may be affected by the current economic climate in these counties as they are across Indiana. (It is worth noting that Indiana’s housing values have remained more stable than other states.)
Regardless of the cost of living, residents in Remington and Wolcott live wisely. But, some local businesses might still give you that cup of java for free. That’s just the Remington/Wolcott way.
